AC/DC - DRUMMER ESCAPES JAIL

In keeping with todays Song of The Day, I'm sure many of you have heard of or been keeping up to date with former AC/DC drummer, Phill Rudd's, stint as a Rock and Roll outlaw. In November the seasoned Rock and Roller was arrested at his home and charged over an event that had occurred in September the same year. According to the police report, Rudd made contact with a man he knew and threatened to have both him and his daughter killed, it was later believed that this mysterious man infact worked for Rudd at some point over his career in the Music Industry. After a long wait the case finally came to a conclusion on Thursday 9th July 2015 and the 61 year old was sentenced to eight months home detention. He had entered the court room seeking to be relieved of all charges, however Judge Thomas Ingram of Tauranga District Court declined the plea claiming that him and his lawyer had not done enough to convince him otherwise. Along with being charged for his actions threatening to kill a man and his dau

ghter, he was also charged with drug possession. You wouldn't expect any less from a Rockstar of his calibre really would you? These drug charges were tabled when police undertook a search warrant of his home on November 6th finding 0.71g of methamphetamine and 130g of cannabis in his possession. Where does this leave him with his former Rock and Roll pals? Well Rudd has all intentions of re-joining the band however his future in the drumming hot seat is in doubt as they have replaced him for current 'Rock and Bust' world tour with Briton Chris Slade, and his conviction is sure to create difficulty in travelling on tour internationally, even after his home detention is up. The band have made no formal comment on the sentence as of yet. More on this as it unfolds.
