WOLF ALICE ARE BACK WITH VENGEANCE ON NEW SINGLE "YUK FOO" FROM FORTHCOMING LP "VISIO

WOLF ALICE are finally back with their NEW single ‘Yuk Foo’ from forthcoming album ‘Visions Of A Life’. Their debut 2015 release ‘My Love Is Cool’ went down like an ice cold pint on a warm summers day, earning some serious exposure and launching them to the lofty heights of music stardom. Since, the band have been touring relentlessly across UK/ US and Europe but have been somewhat absent in the past year or so and now we know why.

‘Visions Of A Life’ will drop on 29th September via Dirty Hit and is to be followed by the bands biggest UK & EU tour to date with a special stop at London’s notorious Alexandra Palace. If ‘Yuk Foo’ is anything to go by we can expect the new record to be a storm of viciously sharp and energetic punk. The new track appears to unleash that punk raged beast bubbling at the surface of Wolf Alice that had been locked away for huge chunks of their debut album. MLIC showed a side of the band that matured so quickly with intricately curated anthem architecture, musically flawless. Maybe we can expect them to take a step back into the realms of raucous 80’s punk to expose a raw and unpolished sound? Seems Slaves frontman and drummer Isaac has left a lasting impression on Ellie, rubbing off his explosive punky charm.

“Yuk Foo” barely reaches the two minute mark with angry screams from Ellie along the lines of ‘you bore me to death’ and ‘I don’t give a shit’ bringing back that visceral give a fuck punk attitude.

Ellie spoke about the new single in a press release saying: “We wanted to make it open to interpretation, so that anyone who was frustrated at something could have it as their anthem.” The track is inspired by “being sick and fed up of certain expectations… for me a lot of it is about being a young woman. Even the shit, everyday wolf-whistle thing. As I get older, I feel like ‘Why have I always put up with that?’ When I sing that kind of song, it’s everything that I want to do when that happens.”
