We are approaching a busy period, lots of bands old and new are bracing themselves for the end of festival season and the ever closer winter with album releases and tour dates. Here we will give you a quick guide to what albums we think you need to look out for. Don’t worry we won’t drag this out with a long winded list that will reduce you to tears and force you to an early slumber. We will keep it nice and concise and give you some details on the bands and albums we have been keeping an eye on recently. Obviously if you think we are missing any integral selections then drop us a tweet or comment below and we will get back to you with our eternal gratitude.

FIGHTSTAR – ‘BEHIND THE DEVIL’S BACK’

It’s no surprise that we are massive Fightstar fans, they recently returned from a five year hiatus and we couldn’t express our joy enough. Having been able to see them live last year in December at The Forum in Kentish Town was incredible before that the last time we saw them live was at Heaven, London on 17th February 2010. Yes I know a bit creepy that we can still remember the exact date, but we love them! They have now released details of a NEW album, ‘Behind The Devil’s Back’, due to hit the shops in UK on October 16th 2015 with a UK tour to follow shortly after; details of this tour can be found on their site at: www.fightstarmusic.com. We will be attending their show at Troxy in London on 17th October so if you’re going to be their drop us a tweet before hand and we will see you there!! The London band released a teaser song from their new album called ‘Animal’ last week, it’s an incredible track and a glimpse of what we can expect from the forthcoming release. You can check details for this song and listen to it on our site HERE: http://therockwolf.squarespace.com/blog/2015/7/27/fightstar-new-track-animal

DEADWEATHER – 'DODGE AND BURN'

Another one of Jack Whites many post White Stripes projects, Deadweather are a band comprised of many talented musicians with Dean Fertita (Queens of The Stoneage), Alsion Mosshart (The Kills) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs). Their third studio album ‘Dodge and Burn’ is due to be released in September 2015 after a long period of promise and waiting. It’s one that will definitely not disappoint when looking at these artist’s track records and their two previous albums you definitely won’t want to miss this release. The band attack a spooky and dark adaptation of Jack’s signature Garage Blues Rock, you can catch more details on this in our previous blog post HERE: http://therockwolf.squarespace.com/blog/2015/7/11/the-deadweather-dodge-and-burn-2015

THE BOHICAS – 'THE MAKING OF'

We haven’t really spoken much about this band; we first encountered them when they provided support for Royal Blood at the KOKO in Camden earlier this year. They are an interesting prospect with their sparkly Indie Rock and Roll that’s drowned in bluesy riffs, vintage solos and lots of noise! Keep an eye out for this album release which is actually coming relatively soon on 21st August 2015, it’s called ‘The Making Of’ and will be followed with a UK headline tour, again you can get more details on this via their site http://www.thebohicas.com/. The band members are old school friends that bonded through their love of bands like The Kinks and The Beatles until they eventually formed and were signed by Domino Records in 2013. Make sure you catch this eagerly anticipated album!

THE ARCS – 'YOURS, DREAMILY,'

The Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach is preparing to release a debut album with his NEW band The Arcs. ‘Yours, Dreamily,’ is due for release on 4th September 2015 via Nonesuch Records. The band have released two songs prior to the full LP ‘Outta My Mind’ and ‘Stay In My Corner’ that offer a slow, melodic and pshycadelic body that tangos through the night with the vintage blues rock sound. Unfortunately, alike Deadweather, it doesn’t look as if The Arcs will be embarking on an album promoting tour with dates and venues not having been released as of yet, but we can keep our fingers crossed. More details on the band and their NEW album can be found via their site HERE: http://www.thearcs.com/

NOTHING BUT THIEVES – ‘NOTHING BUT THIEVES’

Last but not least we have Nothing but Thieves a British five piece band from Southend – on Sea. This band has been receiving lots of attention recently and has certainly earned themselves a breakthrough so far in 2015. Their innovative indie rock is like a Muse/ Radiohead hybrid with a soft approach and catchy fluid riffs. Our favourite of their so far released tracks has to be ‘Ban All The Music’ which featured as our Song Of The Day some weeks ago, this track has a heavier sound to the rest which is contrasted with soothing and melodic vocals. To date they have released a few songs in preparation for the big album unveiling, these songs have been received well by the British public thus far which sets the album up nicely for release on 16th October 2015. Following this highly anticipated self titled debut album release they will be embarking on a headline UK and Ireland tour during October and November you can catch more information on both the album and their tour via their website here: http://www.nbthieves.com/.
