The overwhelming influence and power of social media platforms is a huge focal point in modern society. Most of us use it religiously for an abundance of reasons, may it be to keep up to date with celebrities, friends and bands or even to catch the latest trends and indulge in some internet shopping. Whatever your self righteous reason may be none of us can escape the fact that we are but a mere minute or two away from checking our phones at any point in time. Now that such a vast proportion of humanity spend hours and hours of their lives scrolling through Twitter and FB, in what has almost become an involuntary action, the spotlight is fiercely shone on those that we choose to follow. Any tweet, thought or opinion can easily be taken out of context and spread through the viral world in a media massacre, decimating the names and reputation of the worlds most loved and cherished celebrities. In many cases we see these so called, role models, engaging with eachother, in what most of the time is a hostile and friendly manner. But on the rare occasion we see these conversations turn bitterly sour. This kind of online entertainment is what the youth of today craves, television and other forms of entertainment has become second to the incessant need to be up to date with everything that is going on in 'celebrities lives' and center to the arguments they ensue.

Now this isn't as high profile as your typical Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Chris Brown Twitter rants but lets be honest no-one gives a fuck about them. That's all forced publication to further their egotistic agenda's anyway. I couldn't imagine anyone who follows us or is reading this blog would give the slightest shit about these kind of celebrities. Drop the scale completely through the floor and even rub the word celebrity off the whiteboard as our latest Twitter fued takes us to the underground of the UK indie and garage scene. Two bands that have risen through the ranks in recent years both with a prosperous year ahead of them, one arguably more so than the other, BUT HEY! We aren't going to take sides.
Sleaford Mods are known for their opinionated and rather cryptic tweets at times so it would be unreasonable to suggest that they wouldn't upset one or two people along the way. Most recently however they decided to call out Stockport based indie pop band Blossoms. The initial tweet was pretty much straight down the line no fucking nonsense kind of stuff.

We know pretty ballsy for a band, that we would argue, don't have much to offer themselves. But each to their own right, Twitter is a place where freedom of speech is encouraged and openly exercised. But Blossoms were not willing to stand back and take the hit so they fired back in true Twitter fued style with some sly digs about the age of Sleaford Mods calling them 'The Shamen for middle-aged, middle-class hipsters' . We won't recite the whole preceding for you as it was a pretty lengthy exchange, you can go check it out on Twitter for yourselves if you really give a shit https://twitter.com/BlossomsBand/status/727989430083031040. And we suppose then you can decide whether you're Team Sleaford Mods or Team Blossoms, we would please ask you let the music do the talking in that matter though.
