The Gorillaz are an ambiguous enigma, having been in hiatus since the release of their last album ‘The Fall’ back in 2010 it looks like they’re set to make a return with a NEW album in 2017. At this stage there isn’t much we can tell you about the prospect of such a creation BUT we do know that it will feature appearances from De La Soul and Snoop Dogg. The album looks to be a lively one, expect an injection of funk, life and pace. Something that steps away from the orchestral ballads and piano based tracks seems to be the general consensus. When discussing the new album with Rolling Stone Albarn said “I’m in the very early days on a new Gorillaz record. So far, it’s really fast, and it’s got quite a lot of energy. I’ve been stuck on piano, somewhere off Broadway, for years now. I want to go somewhere completely opposite of that.” 125BPM is their benchmark, some juicy shit right?

Today the band finally unveils NEW track ‘Hallelujah Money’ a Donald Trump protest song featuring Benjamin Clementine. The song takes its first breath on the eve of Donald Trump’s historical inauguration, how fitting. We don’t wanna bore you with a detailed review or extensive paragraphs, so we’ll leave you all to stick in your headphones, crank up your speakers and listen to the track below. HAPPY FRIDAY!
