Pulled Apart by Horses unveil the raucous NEW video for their latest single Hotel Motivation. This track is the third instalment from their forthcoming album ‘The Haze’ which is due to hit shelves on 17th March via Caroline International. Prior releases include title track ‘The Haze’ and ‘The Big What If’ which are also available for digital download now. Get more details on the new record HERE.

PABH thrash their guitars around in characteristic fashion as they crank up their amps and disrupt a hotel full of people. In the video we see a bunch of civilised hotel guests being rudely awoken by the Leeds based band. One bloke opts for a night in his wardrobe to escape the musical insanity, anything for a bit of peace and quiet. As the song develops we see the disrupted guests become more and more impatient until they reach a point of no return when they march downstairs united, pulling the plug on the ruckus. Personally, if it were us in that hotel, listening to those sweet sounds; we’d be lapping it up. Moshing round our room destroying anything that dare cross our paths. But that’s just us!

"A mind-scrambling combination of insomnia and Iggy Pop’s discography playing back to back at full volume."

The track came to life at the hands of a late night Iggy Pop marathon where the consensual party, (Lead singer and Guitarist Tom Hudson), fell victim to a serious case of insomnia. “Ironically these lyrics came out of the frustration of me suffering a little ‘writers block’. I was sat in a small room in my house, hunched over my computer recording my vocals at about three in the morning. I felt like I couldn't allow myself to sleep until I'd at least made some progress with the track. The song is sort of a fictional version of how I felt and what I was doing that night. A couple of days later we played it in our practice room and everything felt right.” When listening to the track you can hear the punky influence of Iggy Pop and the confusing/ mind numbing effect the lack of sleep had on Hudson. It gives a twitchy effect to the song, that keeps you hooked throughout.

As discussed in our previous post, they seem to be consistent with this new found sound of theirs. They’ve kept that raw, angsty power but dropped it down a few notches. Away from their border line soft metal/ hard rock sound to give us more garage riffs and punky rhythm. Hotel Motivation is a real noisey anthem, one that’s nailed on for inclusion in any Indie Rock DJ’s playlist with the likes of White Stripes and Arctic Monkeys. Expect to hear it down your local gig venue on a Saturday night. You know, the point of the night when all the unsigned local bands have finished and you and your mates are about one pint away from storming the stage and blurting an awful rendition of ‘Champagne Supernova’ down the mic. Word of advice, don’t do it…….. you’re basically cock blocking yourself.

PABH, historically, have never really stuck to one ‘genre’ or ‘style’ in particular. They always seem to be moving and, as they sum up perfectly below, their sound has always dwelled in a state of musical limbo between the tastes of the heavy kids and the indie kids. Maybe this is the secret ingredient to their musical recipe? Whatever it is, this album looks to be swaying to the side of the latter. When discussing the intrigue of their rock and roll prowess lead singer Tom Hudson said “Our musical tastes change monthly, never mind over the course of five years, so we are never going to be the kind of band who’d do the same album every time,”. “We’ve always been that band that are ‘too heavy for the indie kids, and too indie for the heavy kids’ in industry terms, but it’s quite cool that people don’t really know where to put is, because it means no-one can easily slap a genre name upon us. Now we have the freedom to just be who we are.” Preach it!

They’ll be taking the record out for a spin in March and April with a full UK Tour. Get your tix HERE. We’re heading to Scala, London on 28th March for what we’re sure will be a night of pure carnage.
