BLACKWATERS: RELEASE NEW TRACK "DOWN"

BlackWaters, a name you’ll hear swirling around the atmosphere a lot from now on. Residing in Guildford, Surrey this pack of punky, give-a-fuck reprobates are injecting their catchy punk rock infusion across the nation. Having recently embarked on their first headline tour with Strange Bones they seem to be reveling in the glory of their recent success. There ain’t no rest for the wicked though and these Surrey lads have certainly adopted that philosophy recently releasing their NEW track ‘Down’, the latest edition to their series of cut-throat singles.

The message is moderately political, as is the case with a lot of today’s breakthrough bands. The world’s a sight for sore eyes right now, what with our crippling austerity driven government, the election of a chimpanzee as president of the United States and the shire lack of humanity that’s exercised in today’s world. The UK’s underground rock music scene is herding the sheep and riling up the revolution. These boys are more than just your typical humdrum, angsty, soulless ‘wannabe’ band. There’s a REAL passion and drive behind their music which resonates delightfully with us mere peasants. The result is a pure, adrenaline fueled chaos that induces it’s listeners with an insatiable need to scream at the top of their lungs and mosh like they’ve got pins and needles in their left leg.

The influences are clear and admirable with The Clash being the obvious front runner. The 80’s dirty punk dogs stand tall as inspiration for many musicians of today and the BlackWaters are no exception. They sprinkled their own charm on this age old style though with an inexplicable amount of energy and of course those Jamie T-esque rhyming vocals. The video starts with an insightful quote from American philosopher and political activist Noam Chomsky take a gander below!
