THE AMAZONS: NEW TRACK "BLACK MAGIC"

Today you’re either unbearably loved up with your infinitely better half or, like the other vast majority of the population, you’re lonely, desperate and on your way to Tesco Express to pick up a ready meal for one and a card for your cat. Despite whatever your current relationship status may be, there’s more than enough love to share around on this hallowed day and it comes in all shapes, sizes and capacities. Music has the power to bring people from all walks of life together; it stimulates human emotion in all kinds of ways. Whether it be through a soppy indie love song, or the boisterous tenacity of an early Arctic Monkeys banger that give you the bollocks to stumble across the pub and chat up the bird/ bloke that’s giving you the eye. The point is music plays a key role in any romance! Those of you with no plans tonight, fear not The Amazons are on hand to spread the love with the release of their NEW single ‘Black Magic’.

The Amazons are on a relentless path of worldwide dominance, it’s still early doors but they’re moving in the right direction. Their infusion of riff heavy rock has all of us foaming at the mouth in anticipation of a debut album. They’ve come a long way already since the release of their debut single “Junk Food Forever” back in 2015 most recently working with producer Catherine Marks (Foals, Vaccines, Wolf Alice) on 2016 single “In My Mind”. Their sound is full of huge choruses, screeching power riffs and emotive vocals/percussion. “Black Magic” is the epitome of this style. Mysterious and tantalising both by name and sound, it’s a step in the right direction for The Amazons and a fair warning of their intent for worldwide rock and roll domination. You hear this sentence thrown around a lot BUT this band are nailed on for appearances at the biggest venues and festival stages in the UK. It’s a dead cert! The bookies wouldn’t even take punters bets, it’s that guaranteed. It’s difficult to even throw a comparison into the mix, their style is so unique. Clutching straws here but....... if we must. Black Magic has the funky riffing prowess of Biffy Clyro layered with the atmospheric power choruses and huge sound of Foals. There’s hints of more obvious bands in there like Palma Violets and Circa Waves aswell, so if your a fan of these bands then The Amazons are definitely worth a listen.

The riff alone will send shivers down your brittle spine and fill your body with pure elation. It’s a fantastic track.
