It’s time to get excited Royal Blood fans!! The time has finally come! It’s been an absolutely brutal slog over the past three years since the Brighton duo came bursting on the scene like a rude joke at a posh dinner party. They took no prisoners blowing the whole world away with their uniquely bold blues rock and now finally they’re back. We’ve had but only 32:38 minutes worth of LP, a few amazing B-Sides and the release of “Where Are You Now” for TV Series Vinyl to keep us going.

Yesterday evening the band released a cryptic message via their social media pages. The post saw them painting a mural in their hometown of Brighton (see picture below) which would suggest this is the artwork for their follow up album. Many fans have tried to find the location of this wall art since and Royal Blood even teased with a really vivid Instagram post which showed the location of the painting on some sort of map app. It’s rumoured that it’s on a road called ‘York Hill’ in Brighton so if you’re in the area head there, check it out and let us know!
This post potentially revealed the album’s title “How Did We Get So Dark?” which we LOVE! And even gave us a release date of June 16th. Now this hasn’t actually officially/verbally been confirmed by the band yet but I’m pretty sure we can take this as solid. It would make sense given that they are set to play countless festival appearances this summer which would be the perfect opportunity for them to take LP2 for a test drive. We would imagine that following a successful summer Royal Blood will embark on a headline UK tour so keep an eye out we’ll keep you posted when we know more.

After all that excitement and relief yesterday they posted yet another cryptic message on social media just an hour ago (see video below). It appears the first single from the NEW album is called “Lights Out” and it’ll be released tomorrow 13th April at 7PM BST. No further details of how, where and when it will be released but we assume in the form of YouTube and following that available to buy on iTunes and all other platforms. We’re sure all will be revealed tomorrow with “Lights Out” in terms of artwork, tracklisting etc. and potentially their store will open for album pre-order bundles with free download of “Lights Out” for every pre-order made. But don’t take our word for it this is all just speculation from us!
The video has an EXTREMELY brief snippet of a riff that we imagine would be part of the song, probably an intro? But as we say they’re playing their cards very close to their chest at this stage and all will be more transparent tomorrow! There’s only one thing left to say…………. AT FUCKING LAST!!!
