GREAT NEWS, it looks as if our favourite Sheffield lads Arctic Monkeys are back in the studio cracking on with what will be their 6th studio album. Their latest release AM hit shelves way back in 2013 and since both Turner and Helders have been plying their trade elsewhere with various side projects. Alex teamed up with his ol’ pal Mile Kane to revisit The Last Shadow Puppets releasing their second studio album together and follow up EP “Dream Synopsis” last December; whilst Matt was off gallivanting with Josh Homme, Dean Fertita and Iggy Pop on “Post Pop Depression”.

We were given a glimmer of insight into the bands future when they were pictured together on a night out in Sheffield back in December revealing to a BBC reporter that they were in the midst of writing new material. But now it seems the band have moved a step further in the quest to #AM6 as Matt Helders took to Instagram to post a rather suggestive picture of a mic’d up drum kit which looks to be in a studio somewhere. No we can’t speculate too much without solid hard facts but surely this implies they’re either rehearsing or even recording new material? The caption for the image is “Meat & Potatoes”, a suggestion that maybe they’re recording the drum tracks to a new song the core ‘meat and potatoes’ of a bands setup? We’ll let you all decide for yourselves!
