Its been a while since we’ve heard some funky, high-energy indie pop bangers but emergent welsh group Monico Blonde are bringing us exactly what we’ve been waiting for. After turning heads with previous tracks ‘Bad Thoughts’ and ‘Breath’, their new single ‘Love is an only child’ is making huge waves across the country, recently snapping up Radio X’s Song of the Week.

According to urban myth, the band formed in summer last year over an argument about whether about whether Prince was as good as Michael Jackson, they never solved the argument, but started a band instead.
Well thank god those boys love a bicker! Their sound combines punchy pop melodies, tight harmonious choruses and thrashy, loud guitar hooks which pick you up and never drop you down.
The new single brings in delightfully chirpy off-kilter synths and places them along side reverberating drum machines creating a beautiful 80’s flashback oasis of phenomenal guitar riffs and an almighty chorus you can only sing along to. This track is bound to get any crowd going.
Already building an ever growing fan base, grab your opportunity to see these Cardiff lads early cause their destined for great things with a couple of big summer festivals already on their books:

Wrexham, Focus Wales, Saturday 13th May
